We usually ride once or twice a week ….

…. but you don’t have to attend every ride. If you’d like to come for a ride with us then you need to join our group. You will then receive an email detailing each and every ride. Rides are fairly leisurely and we carefully pick days when there is suitable weather. START: Usually outside Pettigrews Tea Rooms, Bute Park. We allow a few minutes for latecomers. We sometimes pick up other riders at agreed times and locations en route.

DESTINATION: The round trip mileage of our rides is between 5 and 30 miles plus cycling to the start point.

DURATION: About 2-4 hours (includes breaks) – depending on length of ride and time spent chatting.

SUITABILITY: A gentle ride to keep fit and flexible. Electric bikes are OK. Thin racing tyres are NOT.

CLOTHING: Warm clothing or raingear in a rucksack is good when the weather is suspect.

FOOD + DRINK: Sandwiches and a flask of tea maybe a good idea but we nearly always find a destination to have a cuppa, a drink or maybe a meal and a chat at our half way point.

WHATSAPP: We plan rides and discuss cycling issues on WhatsApp. If you join our group you will be welcome to join us there also.

SAFETY: Please read our Cycling Policy (on our website). The main things are that we have a ride leader, ride safely, keep together and don’t over extend ourselves.

YOU AND YOUR BIKE: Please ensure that you and your bike are in a safe and useable condition. Keep your bike and yourself well oiled but no booze, no wacky backy !
