Croeso !

This newly reformed group met in Spring 2023 and decided to focus on conversation in Welsh. The group has members who are fluent and also many who have some knowledge of the language but would like the opportunity to practise speaking; sometimes that knowledge may be quite rusty!

 The group meets for one hour per week in the top floor cafe at John Lewis. We hope that by meeting every week, confidence will build up but also that there are multiple opportunities to attend for those who may only be able to call in occasionally.

The cafe now has a community table which we have booked but we also split into groups and use other tables in the cafe.

We plan to have a pre-arranged topic to discuss but also feel free to talk (or read aloud) about a topic of your choice; it is just a means of getting conversation started.

We anticipate that as time goes on this model will evolve to fit the interest of the group.

I keep using ‘we’ because this initial plan was put together by a group of people, of differing levels of experience in Welsh who met to discuss what the group might look like as we move forward.
