This is a new group starting in September 2025.

Each session will cover explanations of two or three  types of clues and how to solve them, some exercises for participants to try for themselves, followed by the answers and explaining how they were arrived at.  Each session accompanied will by a handout with an explanation of the solving methods/clue types covered, and the exercises.

The group is suitable for beginners and also for those who may have done cryptic crosswords in the past but need some help getting started again. The sessions will be progressive but new members are welcome. Please make sure to contact the convenor before coming along as you may need to have looked at some resources in advance.

Some members of Cardiff u3a who have cryptic crossword experience will be there to help.

This group is rapidly filling up and a reserve list may be put in place should the numbers continue to increase.
