Contact the Convenor – Philip Champness
This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the morning. Membership of this group is closed but a second group will start in November 2023; Change and Transition in the Third Age 2, meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the afternoon. Visit the Change and Transition 2 page.
The group’s purpose is to explore our experiences and expectations of the third age to find creative ways of living well. Its method is peer-to-peer learning in facilitated inquiry that raises awareness of attitudes and behaviours and develops skills for self-development. Meetings may begin with a topic that focuses conversation but may divert to consider ideas that emerge from group discussion.
The group is made up of people who share common experiences of being in the third age and who support each other to develop their capacity for learning and growth.
Group members will determine the ground rules for group process and will agree to observe them. To enable members to speak openly about their experiences the group will commit to confidentiality – what’s raised in the group stays in the group. Confidentiality helps to foster openness. It is therefore unlikely that new members will be admitted after the introductory weeks.
