Our group meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the Upper Room at City United Reformed Church in Windsor Place at 14:00.

Our aim is to provide an informal, supportive setting in which beginners and anyone returning to French for the first time in years can start to express themselves in basic situations with confidence.

Our sessions do not involve tutoring as such, although we do occasionally touch on basic grammar and vocabulary as we explore how the French think and talk about the world.

For some of us, our sessions are a complement to Duolingo or some other more formal learning experience. For others, they are an opportunity to meet and get to know new people, which is the real magic of U3A. 

Our group has evolved and will continue to evolve to address the needs and wishes of its members.
