GIVE IT A TRY !
You don’t need to be gifted nor have prior experience to come along to our workshops. You will receive instructions and taught techniques which we will then practice. So just learn and practice and you will grow in confidence whilst having a lot of fun! Newcomers are gently introduced to everything and we always begin with routines to warm us up anyway.
IMPROV is like acting without a script so sometimes called “Improvisational Theatre”. It’s light hearted and gently mind challenging. It can also be very funny. That’s why Improv is often called “Improvisational Comedy”
COMEDY can simply be funny anecdotes and jokes. We work on developing confidence / looking at joke telling techniques / stand up comedy / sketch comedy and writing comedy. As always, no prior experience is necessary.
DRAMA. We have no stage, scenery or props so there are limitations as to what we can do. However we have a lot of fun and learn plenty by studying various techniques / character work / performing radio type plays / play reading / one act plays / recitation and developing public speaking skills.
The activities of our group have many other benefits – they help reduce social anxiety, maintain good mental health and increases resilience, confidence, creativity and happiness. They can benefit listening skills, short term memory, language skills and spontaneity. So many benefits – and also great fun!
