Please note that the meeting on 14th January 2026 has been cancelled.
This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the afternoon.
A group considering Change and Transition in the Third Age has been successfully meeting for a number of years and continues to meet. This second Change and Transition in the Third Age 2 group was a new group in 2023-24 which began the process again.
The group’s purpose is to explore our experiences and expectations of the third age to find creative ways of living well. Its method is peer-to-peer learning in facilitated inquiry that raises awareness of attitudes and behaviours and develops skills for self-development. Meetings may begin with a topic that focuses conversation but may divert to consider ideas that emerge from group discussion.
The group is made up of people who share common experiences of being in the third age and who support each other to develop their capacity for learning and growth.
Group members will determine the ground rules for group process and will agree to observe them. To enable members to speak openly about their experiences the group will commit to confidentiality – what’s raised in the group stays in the group. Confidentiality helps to foster openness. It is therefore unlikely that new members will be admitted after the introductory weeks, however there may be opportunities to join the group at certain milestones in it’s progress.
