Recent Ride – Caerffili

This was quite the challenge. Almost as far as we have ever ridden as a group and with a fair height to climb. Many thanks to Alex for “scouting” out the route following an old railway track. Actually – we took our time and met the challenge ! It turned out to be a really enjoyable ride, and reasonably cool and sunny.

In Caerffili we explored the “FFos Caerffili” market area and had some refreshments and food. This market is mostly composed of Sea containers carefully positioned together and with enclosed open areas to sit, eat and walk around. The overall effect is very pleasing, a totally clean fresh space with a lot of things on offer. They even had a toilet block split into separate cubicles.

After refreshing ourselves we visited the statue of “Tommy Cooper” just for a laugh. And there we were, ready to go home “Just Like That “

The ride homewards was, of course, an absolute breeze. It was hardly any effort, sitting on our saddles and enjoying the slow gradient back down to Cardiff,

Another memorable day and one to give us confidence to tackle a trip up to Pontypridd before Autumn arrives.
